Compression and Release
Concrete block walls define a utilitarian dormitory measuring 14′ x 8′. This rectangular space serves as the setting for an intervention that consists of hundreds of newspaper strips hung from the ceiling. These ceiling drops emerge as translucent cubic voids that mirror the room’s usage while evoking anticipation and surprise for its inhabitant.
